International Dialogue of Civilizations & Tolerance Conference Set to Inspire Global Understanding

Dubai, UAE — The Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies (ESCRS) is proud to announce the second edition of the International Dialogue of Civilizations & Tolerance Conference, taking place under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance & Co-existence. The event is scheduled to commence in just 2 days, promising to be a pivotal gathering for fostering dialogue and understanding among diverse cultures.

Building on the success of its inaugural event, this year’s conference aims to serve as a premier platform for addressing the core issues surrounding civilizational dialogue. Experts from academia, politics, and various sectors will convene to explore the complexities of engaging with diverse values and norms, emphasizing that constructive dialogue is essential for crafting innovative solutions to the global challenges we face today.

The conference will feature a distinguished lineup of speakers, including:

  • H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan – Cabinet Member and Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence
  • H.E. Shaykh Abdallah Bin Bayyah – Chairman of the UAE Fatwa Council and Head of the Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace
  • H.E. Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi – Chairman of Sharjah Consultative Council and Former Minister of Climate Change and Environment
  • Dr. Fawaz Habbal – Director General of Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies
  • H.E. Ambassador Lorenzo Fanara – Ambassador of Italy to the UAE

Cultural Performances and Special Events

In addition to the discussions, the conference will feature cultural performances, including the Emirati Traditional Dance (Al Yola) and a live performance by Jon Schmidt, a Billboard chart-topping pianist and co-founder of The Piano Guys.

Special events will include the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) between the Emirates Scholar Center and various organizations, as well as book signings by renowned authors like Marek Halter. The conference will also showcase the talents of Ahmed Al Hashemi, an Emirati pianist and composer with autism.
