Jahanara M Wattoo, a provincial leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and head of the PPP social media Punjab on Thursday visited the family of christen couple burnt alive by a mob in a brick kiln in the outskirts of Kasure for alleged blasphemy, and condoled with the family.
On the occasion she assured the victims’ family of her party full support, adding that the PPP and its leadership has an unshakable commitment to the protection and safeguard of the minorities’ equal rights as a Pakistan Citizens. She strongly condemned the incident and the deliberate negligence of the Punjab administration and police She maintained that in a civilized society no one had the right to take law into its hands.
“Islam preaches peace and brotherhood while the such barbaric incedents are completely against the Islam as well as protecting and preserving life, property, honor and dignity of religious minorities was the responsibility of the state.” She said.
She added that all such anti-minorities incidents happen in the Pakistan Muslim League governments which show that the PMLN has soft corner for such kind of anti-state elements.
She stressed upon the need of unity among all the religions and sects to defeat the nefarious plan of the anti-state elements and mindset.
Jahanara Wattoo has showed solidarity with aggrieved family and demanded demanded arrest of culprits involved in the incident and providence of speedy justice to deceased duo.
