Punjab Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) President Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo has held the Punjab government responsible for the Joseph Colony incident and said the country had to face worldwide embarrassment due to this tragic occurrence.
He asserted that Punjab government refusal regarding presence of terrorists in the province instead of taking actions against them was a matter of grave concern as it has further strengthened the militants and provided them opportunity to continue terror activities.
The PPP provincial president said that chief minister has contacts with terrorists and he might want to use for success in general elections that is why he was avoiding any action against them.
Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo said this while talking to media after visiting Joseph Colony, Badami Bagh, with a large number of party members and Punjab’s senior leadership, including Mian Khurram Jehangir Wattoo Parliamentary Secretary for Cabinet Division, , Raja Amir Khan information secretary, Dewan Ghulam Mohiuddin additional general secetary, Syed Umer Sharif Bukhari deputy general secretary, Pervez Rafique president minority wing, Junaid Qaiser coordinator Social Media were also present.
Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo said that the Punjab government has links with terrorist organizations and this poses threats to the lives of citizens and national security. He said that the seat adjustment of PML-N with terrorist organisations and failure of police were the main causes behind such incidents. He said the Punjab government had failed miserably to prevent atrocities against religious minorities and protect their lives. Mian Manzoor Wattoo said it was shameful that houses of poor people were first looted and then set ablaze for which the Punjab government was responsible.
Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo reached Joseph Colony in the evening and was surrounded by a number of party supporters. A large number of people from the Christian community and locals of Joseph Colony were also holding flags of the PPP.
