Dallas Baptist University’s Institute for Global Engagement will host a significant conference titled “Praying for All the Persecuted” on October 24 and 25, 2024. The event aims to mobilize the church to pray for and advocate on behalf of those persecuted for their faith worldwide. The conference is hosted by Knox Thames, an international human rights lawyer and advocate, and Dr. Randel Everett, Senior Fellow for Religious Freedom at DBU and Founding President of 21Wilberforce.
As religious persecution continues to affect people of various faiths globally, the need for prayer and advocacy is more pressing than ever. The gathering will feature powerful testimonies from Christians who have remained steadfast in their faith despite imprisonment and torture, as well as stories from individuals of other religions who have also suffered for their beliefs. Attendees will have the opportunity to join in fellowship with Christians committed to praying and advocating for the persecuted, regardless of faith background, as an expression of God’s love for all.
The event will begin with a dinner on Thursday at 6 p.m. in The Great Hall, Mahler Student Center, followed by a keynote address. Friday’s sessions will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., featuring two keynote addresses, two panel discussions, lunch, and a one-on-one interview.
Keynote speakers include Andrew Brunson, Sam Brownback, Mariam Ibraheem, and Rev. Dr. Elijah Brown. Additional featured speakers are Wissam al-Saliby, David Trimble, Ed Brown, Anna Lee Stangl, Tiffany Barrans, Bill Benac, Katie Fruge, Bob Fu, Rex Horne, Pari Ibrahim, Jewher Ilham, Artemis Kourosh, and David Trimble.
