Pastor Greg Laurie Calls for Prayer and Support as Trump Enters Second Presidency
Pastor Greg Laurie of Harvest Christian Fellowship has voiced strong support for President-elect Donald Trump’s recent statement on his survival of attempted assassinations, in which Trump expressed, “God spared my life for a reason — to save our country and restore America to greatness.” Laurie believes this sentiment reflects a divine purpose, much like former President Ronald Reagan, who similarly attributed his survival after an assassination attempt to God’s intervention.
After winning the presidency, Donald Trump made this statement-
“‘God spared my life for a reason — to save our country and restore America to greatness.”
I believe this is true. America needs restoration. President Trump could have died so easily in the assassination attempts… pic.twitter.com/OH344uwwMX— Greg Laurie (@greglaurie) November 6, 2024
“America needs restoration,” Laurie said, noting the parallels between Trump’s survival and Reagan’s experience. Following the attempt on his life, Reagan confided in his diary, writing, “Whatever happens now, I owe my life to God and will serve Him every way I can.” Laurie recalled how Reagan went on to serve two terms, leaving a lasting legacy in American history, and expressed hope that Trump, too, would fulfill a significant purpose in his second term.
Laurie called on Christians to pray for Trump’s leadership and guidance, particularly that he will be surrounded by wise and godly advisors. “Let’s pray now for President Trump that he will be surrounded by godly and competent people who will give him good counsel in the days ahead,” Laurie urged. Ending with a blessing, he said, “God bless President Trump, and God bless the United States of America!”
With his message, Laurie joins other faith leaders who see Trump’s election as an opportunity for spiritual and national renewal, encouraging the Christian community to stand behind their president as he seeks to fulfill his vision for the nation.
