Trump: U.S. Will Take Over Gaza, End Terrorism, and Create Prosperity

President Trump, Israeli PM Netanyahu hold press conference

February 5, 2025 – Washington, D.C.

In a historic and groundbreaking announcement, President Donald Trump declared his plan for the United States to “take over the Gaza Strip,” level the war-torn area, and rebuild it into a thriving economic hub. Speaking alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, Trump outlined a vision that would permanently end the cycle of violence in Gaza and bring long-term stability to the Middle East.

Trump’s Vision: A New Future for Gaza

Trump made it clear that merely rebuilding Gaza under the same conditions would lead to “the same results we’ve seen for the last 100 years.” Instead, he envisions a full-scale transformation:

  • U.S. ownership and development of Gaza to ensure stability and security
  • Elimination of unexploded bombs and terrorist weapons
  • Complete reconstruction of infrastructure
  • Job creation and housing for the people of Gaza

We’ll own it, and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous, unexplored bombs and other weapons on the site,” Trump said. “Level the site, get rid of the destroyed buildings, and create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing. Do something different.

Trump insisted that his plan is widely supported. “Everybody I’ve spoken to loves the idea of the United States owning that piece of land. We will build something magnificent in a truly magnificent location that, right now, is only known for death and destruction.”

Netanyahu Praises Trump’s Leadership

Prime Minister Netanyahu lauded Trump’s bold approach, calling it a “higher level of thinking” that could break the cycle of war.

“President Trump is taking this to a much higher level,” Netanyahu said. “His vision for the future of this land is something nobody else has dared to think about. He sees what others refuse to see, and once people get over their initial shock, they realize—he’s right.”

Netanyahu reaffirmed his three primary goals for Gaza:

  1. Eliminate Hamas completely
  2. Ensure Gaza never poses a threat to Israel again
  3. Create a long-term solution that guarantees security and prosperity

“With President Trump’s leadership, we will not only win this war, but we will win the peace,” Netanyahu declared.

‘Peace Through Strength’: A U.S.-Led Rebuilding Effort

Trump’s plan is built on his “Peace Through Strength” doctrine, emphasizing decisive action and economic development as the path to stability. He sharply criticized past approaches, arguing that repeated rebuilding efforts have only led to more war.

“It should not go through a process of rebuilding and occupation by the same people who have fought over it and lived a miserable existence there,” Trump said. Instead, he emphasized that the U.S. could take “a long-term ownership position” in Gaza, ensuring security and prosperity for generations.

A New Middle East Strategy

The meeting between Trump and Netanyahu also covered expanding the Abraham Accords, countering Iran’s influence, and resettling displaced Gaza residents. Trump’s vision aligns with his broader Middle East policy—one that emphasizes strength, stability, and American leadership over failed diplomatic experiments.

Netanyahu: ‘Israel’s Victory is America’s Victory’

Netanyahu expressed deep confidence in Trump’s leadership and his ability to “cut through the nonsense” and deliver real solutions.

Israel’s victory will be America’s victory,” he said. “With your leadership, Mr. President, and our partnership, I believe that we will forge a brilliant future for our region and bring our great alliance to even greater heights.”

As Trump moves forward with his plan, the world watches closely. Could this be the game-changing solution that finally brings peace and stability to Gaza? If history is any indication, Trump’s ability to defy expectations and deliver results could very well reshape the Middle East forever.
