Islamabad, Pakistan: Following the inaugural meeting of the Pakistan-USA Parliamentary Friendship Group (PFG), US Ambassador Donald Blome hosted a reception at his residence for the group members.

This gathering served as a platform for informal discussions aimed at strengthening parliamentary ties and promoting positive bilateral relations between the two nations.

On 13 November the newly formed Pakistan-USA Parliamentary Friendship Group (PFG) convened its inaugural meeting, marking a significant step towards strengthening ties between the two nations. The meeting focused on key areas of collaboration, including diplomacy, trade and investment, education, and economic partnership.

The briefing session was chaired by Syed Hussain Tariq, MNA / Convener Pakistan – USA Parliamentary Friendship Group (PFG).The briefing was attended by MNAs, Syeda Shehla Raza, Senator. Sehar Kamran, Ms. Zahra Wadood Fatemi, Syed Amin-ul-Haque, Ms. Tahira Aurangzeb, Mr. Noor Alam Khan, Mr. Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, Ms. Shahida Rehmani, Mr. Ramesh Lal, Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, Syed Abrar Ali Shah, Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar, Mr. Bilal Azhar Kayani, Mr. Danyal Chaudhary, Mr. Khurram Shahzad Virk, Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Behan, Mr. Naveed Aamir Jeeva and Ms. Sabheen Ghoury. 

Syed Hussain Tariq, MNA and Convener of the PFG, chaired the session. Representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Commerce provided briefings on the current state of bilateral relations, highlighting opportunities for enhanced cooperation.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, H.E. Mr. Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, participated virtually. He emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to deepening collaboration with the US, particularly in IT, technology, and education.

Members of the PFG expressed their dedication to solidifying the US-Pakistan relationship. They identified trade, investment, renewable energy, climate change, and regional security as key areas for expanding cooperation.
