US Consul General Kristin Hawkins Lauds Punjab Social Protection Authority’s Efforts to Empower Underprivileged Communities and Promote Gender Equality
Ms. Kristin K. Hawkins, the 34th US Consul General in Lahore, made a special visit to the Punjab Social Protection Authority (PSPA) office, where she met with Vice-Chairperson Jahan Ara Manzoor Wattoo.
During the meeting, Jahan Ara Wattoo provided a detailed briefing on the various social welfare programs being implemented by PSPA, highlighting the Punjab government’s tireless efforts to improve the lives of underprivileged communities and promote their welfare.
The American Consul General praised PSPA’s initiatives, particularly the Zawar Taleem, Equality, and New Life programs. She emphasized the importance of ensuring the rights of transgender individuals and securing a bright future for girls by providing them with quality education.
She noted that empowering them to become active citizens is essential for the development and sustainability of society.
Kristin Hawkins further commended the leadership of Jahan Ara Wattoo and the efforts of PSPA, stating that collaboration between government agencies and international partners is crucial to achieving strong, sustainable results in economic and social protection programs.
She stressed the importance of working together to uplift disadvantaged communities.
